Swimmer dies after getting into difficulty at beach

A 50-year-old man has died after getting into difficulty while swimming in the sea.

He was brought out of the water at Tor Bay in Penmaen, Swansea, on Friday afternoon, following a Coastguard-led search.

Multiple emergency services, including the police, were called to the scene shortly after 13:00 BST.

Paramedics pronounced the man, from Sandfields, Swansea, dead at the scene at about 16:00 and his family has been informed.
